The Southwest Georgia Cancer Coalition serves as an effective voice for our residents, many of whom cannot easily speak for themselves. The CEO, board members, and selected staff members educate elected officials about issues related to cancer, and health in general, in southwest Georgia. We inform our state legislators and the Governor's office about the needs of our region and how their ongoing support allows us to better meet those needs. In large part due to the efforts of Georgia's legislators and the Governor's support, the Southwest Georgia Cancer Coalition continues to receive state funds for specific programs and projects. We also advocate our mission to city and county officials, as well as to Georgia's members of Congress.
