Mark Wilson
Mark Wilson is vice president and director of human resources for Langdale Industries in Valdosta, Georgia. He has 30 years of career experience and education including 20 years at Langdale. Langdale Industries is a more than 113 year-old family business with 1,300 employees at 27 diversified affiliates, primarily in forest products. Wilson helped Langdale self-administer health insurance claims and create wellness & disease management programs that collaborate with community support, saving more than $3 million despite annual double-digit inflation trends.
As a spokesman for purchasers and consumers, Wilson works with other stakeholders (hospitals, physicians, public health, insurance, businesses and faith community) to create innovative health care solutions. In 1996, he helped pioneer a community-based health solution organization, the Lowndes County Partnership for Health (Partnership). The Partnership creates resource synergies that transform healthy lifestyles, improve efficiencies and assist uninsured citizens.
Wilson serves as the governmental affairs committee chairman for the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce and is a board member of the South Georgia Purchasing Alliance and the Southwest Georgia Cancer Coalition. Governor Purdue appointed Wilson as the Large Industry Representative for the Health Strategies Council, which is an advisory body for the Certificate of Need (CON) law.
Wilson earned a bachelor's degree in human resources management from the University of Alabama.
