image: Diane M. Fletcher, MA, RNDiane Fletcher currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Southwest Georgia Cancer Coalition (SWGCC). The SWGCC is a 33-county non-profit collaborative with the vision to be a national model of comprehensive rural cancer control. Designated as a Regional Program of Excellence, the Coalition’s partners include regional hospitals and cancer centers, public health, the American Cancer Society, the Southwest Georgia Area Health Education Center (AHEC), and numerous academic, industry/business, and faith-based partners. As CEO, Ms. Fletcher is responsible for bringing together these diverse stakeholders around common goals of facilitating cancer research, promoting cancer prevention, screening and high quality treatment, eliminating health disparities, using resources effectively, and ultimately, improving the health of all Southwest Georgians.

Prior to joining the SWGCC, Ms. Fletcher was Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Cancer Control Consortium, a successful statewide coalition of over 250 organizations acting collaboratively to reduce the burden of cancer. Specializing in oncology for over 20 years, she also has held clinical, administrative and educational positions at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute (UPCI), a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center. As Assistant Director for UPCI Cancer Control and Population Sciences, Ms. Fletcher developed and managed programs in Integrative Medicine, Multidisciplinary Pain Management, Professional and Patient/Family Education and Support and Community Outreach. She initiated and directed the UPCI Comprehensive Breast Care Center, a nationally recognized model of effective multidisciplinary breast cancer screening and care. Additionally, Ms. Fletcher coordinated an $800,000 grant-funded effort to increase prostate cancer awareness and was an oncology educator for professional and lay audiences. Before joining UPCI, Ms. Fletcher worked in community health care systems as an oncology nurse and clinical manager.

Ms. Fletcher holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a Master’s Degree in Counselor Education, both from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and currently is a PhD candidate. She is a highly regarded speaker and published author as well as an active volunteer in health-related, community, school, and church activities.

Ms. Fletcher and her husband Keith have two grown children and have recently relocated to Albany, Georgia.
